Boston Packing Services FAQ
Confirm the precise rooms, materials, timing, exclusions, and liability terms in your written estimate.
What is included in professional packing services?
The agreed scope can include room-by-room box packing, wrapping and cushioning contents, sealing and labeling cartons, and preparing specified household goods for moving. Furniture wrapping, disassembly, specialty crating, unpacking, and debris removal should be confirmed separately rather than assumed.
Can I book partial or fragile-only packing?
Yes. Partial packing can cover selected rooms, cabinets, closets, or item groups. Fragile-only service can focus on dishes, glassware, mirrors, artwork, lamps, televisions, and similar belongings. Provide a detailed list and photos when requesting the quote.
How much do packing services cost in Boston?
Cost depends on labor, service scope, inventory, materials, access, date, and specialty items. For a complete pack, we review the size of your home and shipment, moving dates, destination, access, and specialty items before preparing flat-rate pricing. The material-package examples do not include professional packing labor.
Do professional packers bring boxes and supplies?
Materials can be planned with the packing service. Confirm the estimated quantities, unit prices, specialty cartons, materials you already own, delivery terms, unused-material policy, and whether any supplies are included in the quoted labor or billed separately.
How far in advance should I book packing?
Book as soon as your move date and likely scope are known, especially for a full household, summer move, end-of-month date, or property with limited building hours. The estimator can advise whether packing should happen on a separate day before loading.
What should I do before the packers arrive?
Remove items that are not moving, create a clearly marked personal-transport zone, empty trash, deal with food and liquids, identify fragile or high-value pieces, provide building access, and keep one decision-maker available for the walkthrough.
Are items inside boxes I packed myself covered?
Self-packed contents may be treated differently because the mover did not select the carton or observe the packing method. Review our written valuation, liability, and claims terms before moving day, particularly for fragile contents.
Can Esquire also unpack at the destination?
If you need unpacking, ask us about availability when requesting the estimate. Define whether you want cartons opened, contents placed on clear surfaces, furniture or closet placement, and packing debris removed. Do not assume those tasks are included in packing or moving labor.
