Boston Moving Labor FAQ
Confirm the precise inclusions, minimum time, travel time, materials, payment terms, and liability language in your written quote.
What are labor-only moving services?
Labor-only service provides a professional moving crew without Esquire transporting the shipment. The crew can carry, load, unload, rearrange, and perform agreed furniture disassembly or reassembly while you provide and operate the rental truck, trailer, or portable container.
Can movers load my U-Haul, Penske, Budget truck, or portable container?
Yes, loading and unloading services can be planned for common customer-rented trucks, trailers, and portable moving containers. Share the equipment type, size, ramp or liftgate, interior tie-down system, placement location, and provider rules before the move.
Do labor-only movers bring dollies, blankets, tools, and straps?
Available equipment and materials depend on the quoted scope. Tell Esquire what is already supplied with your rental and what the load requires, then confirm in writing whether the crew will bring dollies, tools, blankets, wrap, straps, floor protection, or packing materials.
Can I hire a crew only to unload in Boston?
Yes. Provide the Boston-area address, arrival date and time window, vehicle or container type, inventory, access details, and any furniture assembly needs. Avoid scheduling the crew before you can reliably make the shipment available.
Can the same crew load in Boston and unload in another state?
Labor-only service does not include transportation. A Boston crew can handle the local loading appointment, but a distant destination will generally require separate unloading arrangements unless a different full-service move is booked. Ask Esquire what options fit the complete route.
Who is responsible for damage while I drive the rental truck?
Esquire's published FAQ states that for loading or unloading only, responsibility applies while items are in the crew's immediate care, custody, and control, not during customer-managed transportation. Review the valuation, liability, and handoff terms in your written agreement before loading begins.
How much do moving labor and loading services cost in Boston?
Cost depends on crew size, labor time, travel time, inventory, stairs or elevators, carrying distance, parking, heavy or specialty items, requested assembly work, equipment, materials, date, and scheduling conditions. A detailed inventory and access description produce a more useful estimate than room count alone.
How should I prepare before the movers arrive?
Have the vehicle or container present, clean, dry, and accessible; seal and label boxes; clear walkways; reserve the elevator or curb space; separate items that are not moving; and keep keys, provider instructions, hardware, and one decision-maker available.
